AIDS prevention

class hour for grades 1-4

Putintseva Yulia Pavlovna primary school teacher

Target: To introduce students to the concepts of HIV, AIDS and prevention methods.

Discuss:

  • What kind of disease is this?
  • how to identify the disease,
  • how the disease is transmitted,
  • what does this disease lead to?
  • precautions - how to avoid getting infected

What is AIDS?

  • AIDS ( acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) – This is the name given to the most serious disease of our time. .
  • This is a fatal disease that people have not yet learned how to treat.
  • AIDS was first reported in the United States in the spring of 1981. Currently, there are about 1 million people with AIDS in the world, and more than 10 million people infected.
  • The AIDS virus has the property of infecting the body's immune system. This virus enters the blood and damages white blood cells ( lymphocytes ), which are an important defense system of the body.

  • A person infected with the AIDS virus (the HIV virus is not a disease) can become ill and die from a common cold. The fact is that damage to the body by this virus weakens its protective, immune forces (immunity is immunity to various diseases).

  • The body’s natural defenses cannot cope; they are not enough (that is, they are in short supply). And the body begins to break down due to a simple runny nose.
  • Therefore, this deadly virus is called HIV infection ( AIDS virus).
  • A person infected with the AIDS virus may not feel signs of the disease for a long time and consider himself healthy, but actively spread the infection. But one day the virus may wake up and begin its destructive work. And the person burns out like a candle.

What does this disease look like?

The HIV virus enters

into the body and...

  • the immune system is affected, the body becomes defenseless against pathogens of various infections, which do not pose a danger to healthy people;
  • tumors develop;
  • The nervous system is almost always affected, which leads to disturbances in brain activity and the development of dementia.

How to identify the disease?

Remember the steps

  • Get tested for HIV infection at any medical institution (you need to have blood from a vein tested). This can be done anonymously, that is, without giving your last name, first name and home address.
  • You can find out the result of the analysis by phone, providing the registration number, which will be given to you during the examination.

Stages of AIDS disease

  • HIV infection:

weekly fever, swollen lymph nodes, rash. After a month, antibodies to HIV are detected in the blood.

  • Hidden period:

from several weeks to several years. Ulcerations of the mucous membrane, fungal infections of the skin, weight loss, diarrhea, elevated body temperature.

  • AIDS:

pneumonia, tumors (Kaposi's sarcoma), sepsis and other infectious diseases.

Important Do not touch another person's blood! What else would you guys suggest we draw?

“You have AIDS, which means we will die...”

REMEMBER!!!

HIV infection not getting through :

  • through the air
  • in transport,
  • when using common school objects,
  • in a swimming pool.
  • when shaking hands, hugging and kissing, talking;
  • when using the toilet, bathroom, door handles;
  • through dishes, household items, bed linen, money;
  • through tears, sweat, coughing and sneezing;
  • through cats and dogs.

Remember! Scientists have not yet discovered a cure for AIDS. .

The disease is incurable .

The material contains a presentation for the class hour "HIV and AIDS". The event is held in 10th grade. The purpose of the class is to tell students about what HIV is, modes of transmission, symptoms, and treatment of this disease.

The material contains a presentation for the class hour "AIDS - the number one disease." The event is held in high schools. The purpose of the lesson is to introduce schoolchildren to the concept of “AIDS” and to show the full scope of the problem.

The material contains a presentation for the class hour "AIDS". Students will learn about the history of AIDS. The event is recommended for high school students.

The material contains information for the class lesson "You need to know." The event is held in high schools. During the class hour, students learn about AIDS and how to avoid this disease.

The presentation talks about an unusual holiday, which is quite young, since it has been celebrated since 1988. It was this year that WHO declared December 1 as World AIDS Day. Just a few decades ago, humanity did not know about this terrible disease and HIV, but today it is taking the lives of people, mostly young people. This is what caused people to unite in the fight against the disease, which is popularly called the plague of the 21st century.

The manual was prepared on 30 slides. The black background and strict fonts emphasize the relevance of the topic and call on humanity to be vigilant, and for children to remember from childhood that there is no cure for AIDS and vaccinations have not yet been invented. Therefore, it is so important for every teacher to conduct a class hour on this topic and talk about a holiday that has a sad history.

The presentation talks about the global infection of our time - AIDS and HIV, which are called the plague of the 21st century. The disease is so serious that it is impossible not to talk about it. Each class should periodically conduct health lessons on this topic. The material can be downloaded for free and used for demonstration in biology lessons, during class hours, and in extracurricular thematic activities.

The material in development is offered on 24 slides:

  • the history of AIDS in the 20th century;
  • disease transmission;
  • statistics in numbers;
  • preventive measures;
  • treatment and consequences;
  • conclusions for children and adults.

Goal: Promoting a healthy lifestyle, developing theoretical knowledge and beliefs about a healthy lifestyle. Help teenagers realize that AIDS is a deadly disease from which there is no escape. Develop a responsible attitude towards your health and the health of others.

Dry statistics Today, about 40 million people in the world are infected with HIV. About 25 million people have died from AIDS. Total people live in Kazakhstan. Of these, 9083 are HIV-infected. From January 2006 to January 2007, cases were discovered. And this year there are already 3000 people!

Conclusion: AIDS is a dangerous and insidious disease that is caused by the immunodeficiency virus. AIDS is spreading due to our ignorance, as well as our reluctance to change the norms of our behavior. The slogan “Don’t die because of ignorance!” should become the norm of life for every person!

AIDS is the plague of the 21st century!

This is a terrible disease that is killing the population! "PLAGUE" OF THE 21st CENTURY!
Completed by: Avdeeva Nadezhda Mikhailovna

AIDS is an infectious disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which destroys vital cells of the body's defense system!
acquired immunodeficiency syndrome; the first global epidemic, which in its size covers all the epidemics that humanity has suffered throughout its development; This is the “Plague of the 21st Century.”

infection (human immunodeficiency virus)
HIV -

The essence of the disease is that the virus, entering the body, slowly kills cells that support the immune system, causing complete depletion of the immune system. A person dies from infections: acute respiratory infections, acute respiratory viral infections, influenza, pneumonia or tumors of the lymphatic and circulatory systems.

Who can become infected with HIV?
The HIV virus is a killer; it does not choose its victims. He doesn't care whether you are black or white, young or old, beautiful or not, poor or rich. Where he comes, death comes later. No one is immune from HIV infection. Any person, man or woman, at any age, regardless of place of residence or religious beliefs, can become infected with HIV. Only knowledge about the routes of transmission, prevention of HIV infection and non-risky behavior can protect a person from infection.

How can you determine if a person is infected with HIV?
The presence of the virus can only be determined with the help of special tests, blood tests, which are done in hospitals or special centers. The most common diagnostic method is enzyme immunoassay. A positive test result indicates that antibodies to HIV have been detected in the blood serum. If antibodies are present, it is concluded that there is a virus in the body. Since antibodies to HIV appear only some time after infection, it is useless to undergo examination immediately or a few days after dangerous contact. Test results usually become positive a month after infection, but for some people this period (the “window” period) extends to 3 months or more. Therefore, to obtain a reliable result, the test is done twice, after a period of 3-6 months. A person can transmit HIV to other people 10-14 days after infection.

HIV is a common virus because a person can be infected for many years and appear completely healthy, but the virus gradually multiplies within the body and eventually destroys the body's ability to fight disease by killing blood cells, which are part of the body's immune system. . If a person is infected, this does not mean that he will immediately develop AIDS. The virus can remain in the body for ten years or more before a person experiences any symptoms of the disease. During this period, a person may look and feel completely healthy, but at the same time he can transmit this virus to others. Thus: - you can get HIV without even knowing it; - you can transmit HIV to others without knowing it.

Routes of HIV transmission:
B
Blood
From mother to fetus
during transfusion of infected blood; during organ and tissue transplantation; through infected medical instruments.
before, during and after childbirth; while breastfeeding.

The virus is not transmitted:
By everyday means (when using the toilet, bath, swimming pool, through dishes, bed linen, money, transport); When shaking hands, hugging and kissing, talking (in the absence of open, bleeding skin lesions); 3) Through tears, sweat, coughing and sneezing; 4) Through cats and dogs, bites of blood-sucking insects.

HIV infection is not transmitted

Prevention
A person can avoid contracting HIV infection by changing his behavior to a safer one: do not use drugs, especially intravenously; do not begin sexual activity in early adolescence just to prove your “maturity”; avoid promiscuous sexual intercourse; use disposable and sterile instruments for medical procedures; do not use other people’s razors or manicure sets; take care of your health, keep your body clean, which will protect you from many diseases; lead a healthy lifestyle.

Consequences of AIDS:
Life expectancy from infection to death averages 5 to 8 years. When treating HIV with modern antiviral drugs, the patient can live for many years without deterioration in quality of life. If treatment is not carried out or is insufficient, HIV infection after a few years can develop into AIDS, which causes irreversible consequences and leads to the death of the patient

AIDS forecasts are disappointing Today there is an opportunity to significantly prolong the life and well-being of HIV-infected people. Currently, a medicine that can defeat HIV infection has not been found. Treatment of HIV-infected people is aimed at reducing the rate of reproduction of the virus in the human body and preventing the development of the AIDS stage. If an infected person receives anti-HIV therapy, is observed by a doctor, leads a healthy lifestyle, follows a diet, and rules of general hygiene, then he can prolong normal health and maintain good physical condition for many years.

One person at this disco is infected with HIV. Who do you think is infected?

This severe infection claims almost 3 million lives every year!

The symbol of the fight against AIDS is the red ribbon. This ribbon is a symbol of AIDS awareness. A symbol of our compassion, support and hope for a future without AIDS.

Stay human AIDS is not transmitted through friendship!
